Before graduating from Cornell University’s DVM program in 2006, Dr. Meltzer practiced as an attorney in New York. Inspired by James Herriot, a British veterinary surgeon and writer, he began his journey from law to veterinary medicine. He spent a couple years working with local vets to gain experience and, along the way, spent time at Ground Zero decontaminating Search and Rescue dogs during 9/11.
In 2010, Dr. Meltzer moved to Washington with his fiancee and cat, Chutzpah. In his free time, he enjoys jamming with his band and anything outdoors.
